Whether a frequent flyer or an occasional traveler - have you ever wished for the comforts of first class when your budget demands traveling coach class?
I love to travel. Most of my life I have found myself on one side of the earth, making plans to go to the other. But experienced air warriors know that modern day air travel, for all its conveniences, can be a challenge.
Small, cramped seats, an awkward sitting position, and long periods of inactivity take a toll on the body.
I’m not a short person, but I have found it difficult to fly anywhere 2 to 20 hours at a time without a place to elevate my feet. I have curled my toes around the magazine pocket (much to the chagrin of the flight attendants, I’m sure.) I have tried to place them on the ends of the arm rests from the forward seat. I have rested them on my carry-on.
In other words, if there was a way to elevate my feet, I would find it. Graceful, I am not!
In anticipation of flying from Texas to Kenya in 2007, I cut a long piece of webbing, and pinned it together with eight very large safety pins. By placing it behind the head rest on the seat in front of me, I was able to “swing” my feet, but they were not comfortable. Back to the drawing board.
